During the Easter period, more than 70 participants took part in the VCF Soccer Camp in Tirana, Albania, in the VCF Academy project's first visit to the country. Those taking part trained under the methodology of one of the Top 5 football academies in Europe -as ranked in the latest CIES Football Observatory report.
With ages ranging from 6 to 16 years old, the attendees were mainly from Albania itself, although there were also visitors from Montenegro, Kosovo, Greece and even as far afield as Canada.
The VCF Soccer Camp was run at the Football Republic by Redi Jupi Academy facilities, a venue well connected to the Albanian capital and where the participants showed the high level of talent in a country emerging as a football force.
The local Football Republic by Redi Jupi coaches, in collaboration with the VCF Academy specialists planned each of the exercises so that the children could enjoy themselves at the same time as learning skills -all the while decked out in PUMA Valencia CF kit.
Each of the participants was evaluated according to four fundamental aspects: Technique, tactics, fitness and psychology. The VCF Soccer Camp tests were designed by the Valencia CF Methodology Department to teach using drills and challenges, in the same way the club trains young talents at the Ciudad Deportiva.
This first experience in Albania adds another country to the list of places where the VCF Academy Programme has taken place, as well as VCF Soccer Camps in other venues around the globe in recent years, such as Switzerland, United Kingdom, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Estonia, USA, Canada and Panama.
Such was the success of the visit to Tirana, that a second edition is already being planned.
